This ambigram is a personal typographic experiment exploring the challenge of making an ampersand work rotationally. The design plays on the contrast between the ornate, calligraphic nature of a traditional ampersand and the stark simplicity of the letterforms on either side.
“I&I” draws on the Rastafari concept of oneness, the idea that the self and the divine are not truly separate. The ambigram echoes that idea. The mark was printed as stickers for personal use on white label records.
